I am a Neo-Soul Inspirational artist with a deep love for soul music. I know people often talk about this, but what is up with these artists that get all this credit for doing absolutely nothing? I am not knocking their hustle, there is room for it all, but I am so over the promotion of booty and breast over talent and spirit.
Sure I should be grateful a Jill Scott and India.Arie are paving the way, but why has it taken so long for them to get their just due? I am not about shaking my tail feather or running out on the stage half naked. I believe I can be sexy and clothed, and express myself in a way that my children can be proud of.
What happened to the day when we saw ourselves as rolemodels? Is that really a thing f the past? What do you think? Do artists have the responsibility of acting as rolemodels? Should artists consider limitations?
